- Marital Status: Must be unmarried.
- Education: Must have completed primary and middle school (or an equivalent 8-year education system) with a minimum academic score of 70%.
- Disciplinary Record: Must not have received any disciplinary actions during previous education.
- Study Gap: Must not have had a study gap of more than two years after middle school.
- Previous Education: Must not have completed primary or middle school in Turkey.
- Residency Status:
- Must not have a family residing in Turkey.
- Must not be a refugee or living in Turkey with family.
- Must reside in their country of citizenship.
- Students from Northern Cyprus:
- Must be citizens of Northern Cyprus.
- Students from Northern Cyprus who complete Imam Hatip High School in their home country are eligible for university scholarships in Turkey.
- However, those who join the Turkish International Imam Hatip Program in Turkey will be treated as Turkish citizens and will not be eligible for foreign student university quotas.
Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor’s Degree Applicants
To apply for a Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies under the Turkish Diyanet Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must not be a citizen of Turkey or have lost Turkish citizenship for any reason.
- Date of Birth: Must be born on or after January 1, 2004.
- Health: Must not have any health conditions preventing academic studies in Turkey.
- Education:
- Must have completed or be completing a high school diploma equivalent to the Turkish system by July 2025.
- Must have a minimum academic score of 70%.
- Disciplinary Record: Must not have received any disciplinary penalties during high school.
- Study Gap: Must not have a study gap of more than two years between high school and university.
- Previous Scholarships: Must not have previously received a Turkish Diyanet Foundation Scholarship that was terminated by the foundation or voluntarily withdrawn.
- Current Enrollment: Must not be enrolled in any Turkish universities at the time of application.
Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Degree Applicants
Applicants for the Master’s in Islamic Studies must meet the following conditions:
- Citizenship: Must not hold Turkish citizenship. Graduates of the International Faculty of Theology in Turkey must apply with non-Turkish credentials.
- Age Limit: Must be under 30 years old (born on or after January 1, 1995).
- Study Gap: Must not have had a study gap of more than two years between their Bachelor’s graduation and Master’s enrollment.
- Education:
- Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree with a thesis requirement.
- Must be a graduate of a Faculty of Theology or Islamic Sciences or an equivalent field.
- If still completing their degree, they must be able to graduate by July 2025.
- Health: Must not have any health issues preventing studies in Turkey.
- Disciplinary Record: Must not have received disciplinary actions or legal penalties during previous education.
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Applicants
To apply for a PhD in Islamic Studies, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must not hold Turkish citizenship. Graduates of the International Faculty of Theology in Turkey must apply with non-Turkish credentials.
- Age Limit: Must be under 35 years old (born on or after January 1, 1990).
- Study Gap: Must not have had a study gap of more than two years between their Master’s graduation and PhD enrollment.
- Education:
- Must have completed a Master’s degree with a thesis.
- Must be a graduate of a Faculty of Theology or Islamic Sciences or an equivalent field.
- If still completing their degree, they must be able to graduate by July 2025.
- Health: Must not have any health issues preventing studies in Turkey.
- Disciplinary Record: Must not have received disciplinary actions or legal penalties during previous education.
